Quick Reference Chart to Determine BTU needs for
area |
|
|
|
|
To determine BTU needs for area:
1. Determine the square footage of space to
be heated.
2. Select the type of heater control system
(thermostat or manual).
3. Determine BTU zone from map.
4. Find the heater minimum input rate from
the table based on heater control system and Btu zone.
5. Multiply minimum input rate times square
footage times ceiling height. The result will provide minimum BTU
to ensure comfort under a range of operating conditions.
Example:
BTU Zone = 1
Manual Model Input Rate = .9
Square Feet = 4,098
Ceiling Height = 8
4,098 x .9 x 8 = 29,505 Minimum BTU
